When Nora Thoma, a resident at a local senior care facility, was in her 20’s, a dance studio opened in her city. Little did she know that from that point forward, her life would forever be grounded in an unwavering love for dance.
For six months, she enjoyed this dazzling experience until she received the devastating news that the studio would be closing. Nora found herself in tears with a newfound passion slipping through her fingers.
Nora’s life moved forward from that point, and she found herself lacking a proper outlet to exercise her creativity, artistry, and strength. Even still, the memories at that studio and her recollection of how dance made her feel never left her and became the rhythm of her dreams.
Wish of a Lifetime from AARP collaborated with Vital Life Foundation and Polaris Dance Theatre to help Nora rekindle her passion for dance. On December 5th and 12th, she got to revel in personalized dance lessons by Rene. On December 19th, her wish came to a beautiful finale with a performance to “Que Sera, Sera” at her residence in the company of her peers.”
