Every one of us who works for Marquis and Consonus is a Champion, and we’re recognized as Ambassadors when we’ve made a sustained comment to the senior care profession. Rhonda Leonardo, a Consonus Rehab physical therapy assistant is a fantastic example of an Ambassador. She graduated as a physical therapy assistant in 1993, and was quickly hired by Consonus. In her first position, she worked at Vermont Hills with Tracy Fritts.
As a rehab team, we will miss Rhonda’s ability to encourage the hearts of our most challenging residents so they can live the best rest of their lives.
After 26 years of service, Rhonda retired at the end of May. When asked about her greatest career challenge, she reflected, “Although the pandemic was impactful, my biggest challenge was shifting from the cost-based model into the RUGs model back in 1997.” She won’t miss documenting, she says, but will miss her insightful residents and awesome colleagues.
“As a rehab team, we will miss Rhonda’s ability to encourage the hearts of our most challenging residents so they can live the best rest of their lives,” said Lori Taylor, Area Director for Consonus Rehab. As she enters the next chapter of her life, we’re grateful to Rhonda for choosing to serve our residents for the past 26 years!
