Margie Hanley, a resident at Marquis Tualatin Independent Living, has been volunteering at the Neighborhood House Senior Center in SW Portland for nearly 30 years. She worked on rummage sales and bazaars to raise funds for the center until a resale shop opened, where all the funds from the sales assist in providing services to seniors, such as social gatherings, exercise classes, and shopping trips. Margie feels it is important to support other seniors through senior centers with funding and volunteering. We’re happy to have Vital Volunteers like Margie, who give back to their communities, and experience meaning and purpose in their own lives.
