Vital Life Foundation has worked hard to establish programs with our Charitable Partners to create experiences that create vitality in the lives of seniors and volunteer opportunities for staff that connect them to their local community. Since 2008, the year that VLF was established, we have both joined with our Charitable Partners in the effort to create impactful programs as well as supporting our Charitable Partners financially. Vital Life is proud to announce that we will send charitable support checks totaling $582,500.00 dollars this year to our twelve charitable partners! VLF’s top beneficiaries include Alzheimer Association, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Wish of a Lifetime, Meals on Wheels People, and Friends of the Children. These five not-for-profit partners collectively will receive $500,000 of VLF’s total giving this year.
The support that Vital Life sends to these organizations helps further our shared missions to provide meaning and vitality in the lives of those we share our community with. One example of this shared effort is our Elevated Wishes program that is accomplished in partnership with Wish of a Lifetime. Wish of a Lifetime, a charitable affiliate of AARP, grants life-changing wishes to older adults and inspires people to redefine aging in America. In partnership with WOLT, over the past two years VLF helped grant inspiring and impactful wishes for 8 seniors. These wishes reconnected a senior with his son at a baseball game just days before he passed, another allowed a woman whose grandmother drove covered wagons to experience what it’s like to take the reins on a wagon with a team of horses, and another wish sent a group of five seniors from Portland, Oregon to Las Vegas, Nevada to cheer on University of Portland women’s college basketball team as they played for the conference championship title. VLF’s donation to Wish of a Lifetime this year of $75,000.00 will help grant wishes like these for seniors across the nation.
