Quilts of Valor are civilian awards quilted by local volunteers for those who have served in a branch of the armed forces. It’s a foundation that was started in 2003 by founder Catherine Roberts’ whose son was deployed in Iraq. The message she hopes that the quilts offer is one of healing.
